Our mission is to lead the congregation of EVAC into a sincere worship of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Corporately we will demonstrate our praise and worship with our voices and instruments. Our purpose is to give God the glory, honour, and praise for which only He is worthy.

Our worship ministry consists of various worship teams using voice, guitars, drums, keyboards and specialty instruments. We have been blessed with many genres of music from jazz, country and contemporary. Youth are also a very important component of our worship, and are encouraged to participate on the youth team.

Worship Workshop

Calling all who lead in worship!

“Is that me?” you might ask. Well, if you contribute through the music of the worship team/bands, lead in the congregational singing, mix all of the above through the sound system, provide lighting and visual support …then you are an integral part of leading in worship.

As mentioned in our impromptu meeting after the service on Jan. 15th, the EVAC Worship Ministries will be conducting a worship workshop that is intended to inspire us to take on the challenge of leading our congregation to a new and deeper intimacy with the Lord through an authentic worship experience.

Some of the key points to be covered will stress the importance of:
   • your personal ministry to the Lord
   • learning to serve before learning to lead
   • worship as conversation and community
   • creating a journey of worship
   • working together with your pastor
   • Sunday morning as the “un-concert”

In the challenge of becoming “trained and skilled in music for the Lord” (Chron. 25:7) we will also cover topics that will help us in building dedicated worship teams, multiple musicians and vocalists explaining the importance of:
   • studying the structure of songs
   • learning to listen to the rest of the band
   • knowing the difference between timing and dynamics
   • leaving space
   • using loops and stems

All are welcome regardless if you think this applies directly to your involvement or not. I would encourage everyone to attend to learn and discuss how we all function and work/serve together as a team with one focus and goal, which is to lead God’s people in worship.
